| An awesome intro to yoga - if only there was a DVD!"Jane Fonda's Yoga Exercise Workout" is one of the first exercise videos I bought, and it's still one of my favorites!
Jane starts out with a 20-minute stretching/toning routine that consists of a number of different poses. Next, she focuses on the Sun Salutation and leads you through a 15-minute segment based on the one sequence. She starts with the easiest variation of the routine, and gradually increases the intensity. Experienced yoga practitioners can repeat Level 3 (the most difficult level) three times, while beginners can stick to Level 1 (the easiest level). Throughout the segment, she repeats her demonstration of the lower levels for newbies. Jane finishes with a 15-minute relaxation routine. While some people might enjoy this section the most, I generally skip it.
Since beginning yoga, I've bought a number of other yoga instructionals, all on DVD; "Jane Fonda's Yoga Exercise Workout" is the only VHS tape I own. As much as I like the workout, as well as Jane's easygoing teaching style, I don't use the tape as much as I should. I just don't find the VHS tape as convenient as the DVDs, which usually have short segments that you can easily navigate through (many even let you customize your own workout). It would be great if they released "Jane Fonda's Yoga Exercise Workout" on a DVD format (hint, hint, guys!). Other than this minor complaint, though, I'd definitely recommend "Jane Fonda's Yoga Exercise Workout" to beginners and intermediates alike (advanced users might want to stick to some of Rodney Yee's more difficult workouts).

| YAWN. Slow moving and easy.I like yoga as a way to stretch and feel invigorated. I don't like yoga that's sappy ("imagine your baby is enjoying this practice as much as you are") or too slow. I really didn't like this dvd.
It's just... easy. I'm sure this is fine for ladies coming to yoga for their first time, but as someone who's pretty active, this practice just didn't challenge me at all. I also found the inward-looking sappy new age stuff got old fast. The one strong point, though, was that it does demonstrate three separate ways to do the poses, so less flexible people could look at the 3rd trimester version for help. But I'm in my 3rd tri and had no trouble doing almost all of it with the 1st trimester version. It's just that easy.
A great alternative that I later purchased and LOVE is the Complete Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga & Short Forms 2 DVD Set. It's the exact opposite- fast moving, keeps your attention.

| Yoga Conditioning for weight lossSuzanne Deason does a beautiful yoga class/instruction which I look forward to doing regularly. I have been practicing yoga for 10 years at all levels and styles and find her instruction both visual and verbal everso beautiful and pleasing to the beginner in me as well as the advanced yogi. The class includes all levels with her students in the video and the scenery as well as her voice and direction are extremely soothing. The beginner will feel welcome and unintimidated as well as the advanced learning from her direction for each pose. I do not need to lose weight and feel that ALL levels of yogi experience as well as weight goals would benefit greatly from this. Her delivery/form/style /choreography and words give me something at the end of a busy work day to come home to.
I am a member of a yoga studio and have unlimited access , however find this just as pleasing/instructional and rewarding . yet in the confines of my own home.. I would Greatly recommend this for all levels of yogis who would like a great yoga class that they will not get bored enjoy it more and more each time they view/practice. I have her other DVDs as well. Thank you Suzanne for adding this gift to my life.. namaste

| Make Yoga Zone a regular part of your day!I loved my Yoga Zone Conditioning & Stress Release VHS (part of a boxed set I purchased in 1997) so much that I brought it with me when I moved to Europe. Afraid that the tape would wear out or the recorders become obsolete I now own it in DVD! I'm sure blu-ray is next...
11 years ago as a former ballet dancer I needed a way to stay supple and stress free after I quit dancing. Now as a Pilates teacher I use this tape to start my day relaxed and stretched. It is the perfect antithesis for an active Pilates teacher who regularly uses her core. I also love the momentum of this tape to get my day started, working out aches and pains. The clear and precise information Alan Finger imparts develops body awareness, an important aspect to owning a body. Much like a car, one must listen to the rattles and wheezes to know when to add oil or send it for a tune-up. Mr. Finger has a soothing voice and he never says too much going slowly enough to make it a pleasurable session everytime, even after 11 years! It is the perfect meditative way to start my day.
Lastly, I was also able to use Conditioning and Stress Release at home while doing physical therapy to rehabilitate my shoulder after arthroscopy for a torn supraspinatus tendon. Routinely and gently doing the many neck and shoulder stretching exercises finally helped me to realize my goal of almost 100% full use of my arm.
I recommend this tape for anyone interested in starting yoga. The boxed set which includes this DVD is perfect for continuing on with meditation and the asanas.
