A Revelation of Epic ProportionsThis book, along with many of OSHO's works has seared my conscience. No guilt. No condemnation. Truth alone works wonders!
In a word- amazing! This is an amazing, life-changing book that somehow came into my life at exactly the time I needed it. Its simple prose breaks down big, powerful concepts into easy-to-comprehend components. Every page is a wonder. I recommend this book to everyone!
Essential readingI love this book. So inspiring, so needed. Exactly that, the joy of living dangerously but with ethic and mindfulness. Certainly not dangerously how we would normally envisage the activity, but with a presence of mind that is exhilirating. We lead such cautious lives, but as he says in the book, we have to learn to say no before we can say yes with awareness.
Dr Gunta Krumins-Caldwell author of On Silver Wings
a gentle reminder to carve your unique path in lifeThe book exhorts you to break away from the crowd and live spontaneously and lively. The theme is pretty similar to Emerson's self-reliance essay and the explanation is lucid and unhurried with a lot of witty anecdotes. OSHO certainly has lived his life without giving much emphasis on the accepted norms and because of that this message has a certain genuineness to it. There aren't any deep thoughts here (actually, thoughts aren't much valued); it's a simple reminder to genuinely live your life and live truly in the moment. Reminds me of a clip I saw of him a while back where the interviewer asks the reason for his silent meditative state of the previous few years. The response was along these lines - There is no specific reason for this state. Earlier I enjoyed giving talks and discourses; today I love being silent; tomorrow I might revert back to the earlier state.
An Incredible Book From A Meditation MasterOsho books are all about letting go of your own repeating thoughts that slow you down in life. Its about reprogramming yourself from the societal thoughts that we struggle with as part of our dysfunctional upbringings. It comes down to the fact that our parents sold us a bill of goods that they themselves bought because it was part of the way things were in their day and age. The fact is that a lot of this programing may not be valid in today's world and Osho attempts top clear your mind of such beliefs.
The book could have different meaning to all that read it; for me its about increasing meaning in life and in all that I do. The method is to let go of a lot of thoughts that don't add value to you or others. Finding out who you are and having the courage to become the best you can be. I have read the book several times and can promise it will have a strong and positive affect on your relationship. My partner Janet would like me to read it everyday because it has a nice affect on the sexual side of our union. Its as if the book lifts a weight off your shoulders and clears the mind of a self imposed imprisoning thoughts.
Product DescriptionCourage is not the absence of fear, says Osho. It is, rather, the total presence of fear, with the courage to face it. This book provides a bird's-eye view of the whole terrain-where fears originate, how to understand them, and how to find the courage to face them. In the process, Osho proposes that whenever we are faced with uncertainty and change in our lives, it is actually a cause for celebration. Instead of trying to hang on to the familiar and the known, we can learn to enjoy these situations as opportunities for adventure and for deepening our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
The book begins with an in-depth exploration of the meaning of courage and how it is expressed in the everyday life of the individual. Unlike books that focus on heroic acts of courage in exceptional circumstances, the focus here is on developing the inner courage that enables us to lead authentic and fulfilling lives on a day-to-day basis. This is the courage to change when change is needed, the courage to stand up for our own truth, even against the opinions of others, and the courage to embrace the unknown in spite of our fears-in our relationships, in our careers, or in the ongoing journey of understanding who we are and why we are here.
Courage also features a number of meditation techniques specifically designed by Osho to help people deal with their fears.
